Overview

The Certificate III in Individual Support builds the practical care skills, communication and professional judgement you need to work as a support worker across aged-care, disability and community settings.

Across 12 months you’ll move from foundational person-centred care through to supporting people with complex needs, safe manual handling and supported work placement. Theory is grounded in simulation from the very first term — you’ll practise every skill in our labs before you meet a client. You’ll graduate with a nationally recognised qualification, ready to step onto the floor with confidence and a network behind you.

FAQs

What are other students asking?

We move away from the traditional, rigid structure of nursing education to build a highly collaborative, human-centric environment. We focus heavily on peer support, mentorship, and building a genuine ‘village’ that sustains you from your first day on campus through to your professional career.

Our main campus is located in the heart of Burwood. It’s equipped with state-of-the-art simulation labs that mirror modern hospital wards and digital health environment.

We recommend taking our short Course Matcher Quiz to find a program tailored to your interests. If you’re still exploring, you can browse our full course directory or reach out to our admissions team directly via our Contact Page for a one-on-one chat.

Placements are a core part of the SIN curriculum. We partner with a diverse network of metro and regional hospitals, community health centers, and digital health providers to ensure you gain comprehensive, hands-on experience across multiple areas of care.

Yes. We understand that many of our students balance their studies with personal and professional commitments. We offer flexible timetabling, hybrid learning models for theoretical units, and dedicated student advisors to help you manage your study load.
